What can you expect from a surf lesson?

  1. Safety briefing: Before getting into the water, the instructor will give a safety briefing, which may include information on the local conditions, potential hazards, and what to do in case of an emergency.

  2. Beach instruction: Once you're on the beach, the instructor will show you how to position yourself on the board, how to paddle and catch waves, and how to stand up and ride them.

  3. Practice in the water: After the beach instruction, you'll head into the water with the instructor to practice what you've learned. The instructor will be with you every step of the way, giving feedback and guidance on how to improve your technique.

  4. Debriefing: After the lesson, the instructor will likely give you some feedback on your progress, as well as some tips on what you can work on to continue improving.
